"It has been a passion to try and get tribal members and family members to stop smoking. So, to see members successfully stop smoking, drinking, or making bad choices for themselves and family members makes me really happy. I have totally supported Choice & Consequence because they really help our members learn hands on what these bad choices do to their bodies. I really do believe that health education and prevention are a step in the right direction. I love it!"

Karen Fryberg has devoted her entire career of 27 years to the health and welfare of the Tulalip People. She will continue to strive for the best health care program in Tulalip and commit herself to improving the health status of the community members to the highest level possible. She truly wants the Tulalip Tribal members to be proud to attain services from the health program. That is why her ultimate goal was to get a facility that every member of the tribe would be proud of. It made her happy to plan for the beautiful Tulalip Health Clinic on the waterfront on Totem Beach Road in Tulalip. She was born in Everett and has lived her entire life in Tulalip.
